Rishi Sunak has been appointed as a senior adviser at Goldman Sachs, marking his return to the firm where he previously worked from 2001 to 2004.
This is Mr Sunak's first major role since resigning as Conservative Party leader following the general election defeat last year, having served as prime minister from October 2022 to July 2024.
In his new capacity, Mr Sunak will advise leaders across the firm and provide insights on the macroeconomic and geopolitical landscape to clients globally.
The Advisory Committee on Business Appointments (ACOBA) has placed restrictions on Mr Sunak, prohibiting him from lobbying the government or using ministerial contacts for a year.
Goldman Sachs' Chairman and CEO, David Solomon, welcomed Mr Sunak back, emphasising his unique perspectives and contribution to the firm's culture.
