  • He distributed pizzas to several hundred uniformed personnel at the U.S. Park Police facility in Anacostia.
  • He stated that Washington, D.C., was now 'like a different place' and that 'Everybody is safe now'.
  • The president had mobilised approximately 800 members of the D.C. National Guard in the capital the previous week, starting 11 August.
