Fire breaks out at London’s Westfield Stratford shopping centre
A fire broke out at the multi-storey car park of Westfield Stratford City shopping centre in London.
A number of vehicles were alight on an upper level, leading to the evacuation of the shopping centre as a precaution.
The London Fire Brigade deployed 10 fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters to tackle the blaze; crews brought the fire under control by 5.54pm.
The incident produced a significant amount of smoke, prompting advice for people to avoid the area.
The shopping centre is open as normal on Sunday but its car park will be closed.
