Christian Horner ‘takes multimillion-pound payout’ to leave Red Bull
Christian Horner's emotional speech after Redbull F1 sacking
Christian Horner has officially departed from Red Bull, reportedly receiving a payout exceeding £80m.
He was relieved of his operational duties as F1 team principal and CEO in July after 20 years with the Milton Keynes-based team, following a power struggle.
Horner's exit comes a year after a personal scandal involving alleged "inappropriate behaviour", for which he was cleared after two internal investigations.
During his tenure since 2005, Horner led Red Bull to six constructors' titles and eight drivers' crowns.
Laurent Mekies has replaced Horner as CEO of Red Bull Racing, and Horner is reportedly able to return to Formula One next year.
