  • Luke Poulter, son of Ryder Cup star Ian Poulter, missed out on qualifying for the US Open after losing in a play-off at Emerald Dunes in West Palm Beach, Florida.
  • The 21-year-old amateur tied for fourth with a score of 10 under but lost to professional Austen Truslow on the second extra hole.
  • Ian Poulter expressed his pride on Instagram, calling his son's final round an 'incredible experience'.
  • Tyler Weaver, another English amateur, successfully qualified for the US Open, finishing above major champions at Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta.
  • Matt Wallace will also play in his first US Open in four years after qualifying at Lambton Golf and Country Club in Ontario.
