Max Verstappen celebrates Italian Grand Prix victory
Max Verstappen has obtained the DMSB Nordschleife A permit, allowing him to race at the famous Nurburgring track.
The four-time F1 world champion completed a convoluted process, including theoretical and driving tests, to secure the licence.
Verstappen expressed a strong interest in competing in the prestigious 24 Hours of Nurburgring event next year, scheduled for 16-17 May, as it avoids clashes with the F1 calendar.
He gained valuable experience driving in varied conditions on the 12.94-mile circuit, known as “The Green Hell”.
Despite the process being criticised as “embarrassing” by former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher, a committee granted Verstappen the A-permit after he fulfilled the requirements.
