A man has been arrested after a car drove into crowds at the Liverpool victory parade, injuring almost 80 people.
The man arrested at the scene is reportedly a married businessman who has been described as a “nice family man” by Neighbours who were left in disbelief at the devastation that unfolded on Monday.
He has been held on suspicion of attempted murder and drug driving.
Seven people remain hospitalised in stable condition, with a total of 79 identified as injured; a fundraising campaign has raised over £20,000 for those affected.
Police believe the car followed an ambulance through temporarily lifted road blocks; Keir Starmer visited police headquarters to discuss the incident.
