Sunday's Women’s World Cup tips:

Bookmakers are seeing an unprecedented level of interest in their Women’s World Cup odds and things are about to get even more interesting as we edge closer to the knockout stages.

Group A will be done and dusted by close of play on Sunday and betting sites will be busy tweaking their odds based around the teams who confirm their place in the last 16.

We’ve analysed all four of Sunday’s fixtures and selected a tip for each game, starting with the early Group H encounter between South Korea and Morocco.

South Korea vs Morocco tips – 5:30 on BBC Two

South Korea were beaten 2-0 by Colombia in their opening clash of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, although we can expect the Asian side to bounce back when they clash with Morocco. The Taegeuk Ladies are warm favourites to win and we think they can also keep a clean sheet against weak opposition.

The South Koreans came into the tournament with a spring in their step after beating Haiti 2-1 in Seoul and there were also sizeable wins over Zambia in back-to-back games. They should find the Moroccan defence accommodating on the basis of the African side’s opening clash which saw them trounced 6-0 by Germany.

While the Germans are one of the favourites in the outright odds, this was an inauspicious start for the Lionesses of Atlas, with the team having now failed to score in any of their previous six encounters.

They should be capable of putting up a more stubborn rearguard against South Korea but it’s still unlikely they’ll keep the opposition at bay for 90 minutes.

Tip: South Korea to win to nil – 7/5 with Betway

Norway vs Philippines tips – 8:00 on BBC iPlayer

We’re surprised that Norway are trading at such a short price to win this crunch encounter. Hege Riise’s side sit bottom of Group A after a shock 1-0 defeat to co-hosts New Zealand, followed by a goalless draw against Switzerland.

Perhaps we’ll see the Nordic side produce the goods when it really matters, although Philippines made history when beating New Zealand in their second group game after previously losing 2-0 to the Swiss.

It provides them with the opportunity to make the knockout stage of the tournament themselves and it might be worth taking them on the handicap market. You can get a decent price about Philippines with a +2.5 goal start and we think that can oblige.

With this bet, we need the underdogs to avoid a defeat by three goals or more. If they win, draw or lose the clash by no more than two goals, then this wager will profit. With a lot at stake, it’s likely to be a nervy encounter for both sides at Eden Park in Auckland.

Tip: Philippines +2.5 vs Norway – 8/11 with Bet365

Switzerland vs New Zealand tips – 8:00 on BBC Two

Switzerland are in the box seat to advance to the last 16 of the Women’s World Cup as winners of Group A. The Rossocrociati were comfortable 2-0 winners against Philippines in their opening clash at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin and they now return to familiar territory to clash with the tournament co-hosts.

The Swiss are favourites to claim a victory, although it’s not necessarily a game that they need to win, with a draw likely to be enough to retain top spot. As such, we are going to side with under 2.5 goals in this encounter, with New Zealand likely to struggle when it comes to fashioning goalscoring chances.

Although the Kiwis delighted the home support with that ground-breaking win over Norway, the 1-0 defeat to Philippines saw Jitka Klimková’s side fall back down to earth with a bump. We could easily see this game being a frustrating one where Switzerland are able to keep their opponents at bay.

It might even be worth considering a No Goalscorer selection as there has been an average of one goal scored per Group A game thus far, while braver punters may even consider under 1.5 goals due to this stat. We’re happy with the under 2.5 odds though.

Tip: Under 2.5 goals – 1/2 with BoyleSports

Germany vs Colombia tips – 10:30 on ITV 1

Finally, in-form Germany clash with Colombia at the Sydney Football Stadium. Martina Voss-Tecklenburg’s outfit laid down a marker when thrashing Morocco 6-0 in their opener and we should expect them to show no mercy against their South American opponents.

Voss-Tecklenburg will have been delighted that the goals were shared around the team against Morocco. However, there’s no denying that captain and striker Alexandra Popp is the star turn and she can spearhead another bloodless victory.

Germany to win plus ‘no’ on both teams to score looks like a stronger betting option than simply backing the favourites to win.

Colombia’s win over South Korea in their opener practically guarantees qualification considering they should overcome Morocco in their final clash. Daniela Montoya’s side have struggled against quality opponents in the past and they’re likely to spend much of this clash camped in their own half.

Tip: Germany to win + No on BTTS – 4/5 with 888Sport
