Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens photos show Gwendoline Christie and Adam Driver's badass characters
Famous photographer headed down to the Star Wars set
Annie Liebovitz has photographed several members of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens cast for Vanity Fair, giving an incredibly cinematic look at new characters Captain Phasma and Kylo Ren.
Game of Thrones actress Christie looks menacing in her armoured suit, with her character already earning the nickname 'The Chrometrooper'.
According to Vanity Fair, Captain Phasma is a member of the First Order, the film's new version of the Empire.
We also got a better look at Adam Driver's antagonist Kylo Ren, who is seen 'commanding snowtroopers loyal to the evil First Order on the frozen plains of their secret base.'
The Girls actor appears wonderfully evil in his black costume, and there's debate over whether he is missing a leg or has just been photographed at a bizarre angle. He has been confirmed to be playing the same character that wielded the lightsaber with crossguard in the first trailer.
Other photographs taken by Liebovitz see Lupita Nyong’o’s face motion captured for her character Maz Kanata, a band of galactic smugglers pose in a castle and Oscar Isaac board an X-Wing as rebel fighter Poe Dameron.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in cinemas on 18 December, 2015.
