Thor: Ragnarok has finally reached cinemas, quickly becoming one of Marvel’s most beloved film to date.

However, fans were quick to note that one character from the previous Thor films — Lady Sif — was missing from the new adventure.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies, actor Jaimie Alexander explained why her character was missing from the film, explaining how scheduling conflicts with the TV show Blindspot prevented her appearance.

“I was asked, but the timing of when they were going to shoot and when Blindspot was gonna shoot — it was pretty much the same time,” she told the publication.

“So there was a conflict there. I was hoping for more of a notice from [the studio] so I could make it work, but it was a short notice thing.

“They called and said, ‘Hey, by the way, would you come do this?’ I said there is no way I can make that work that fast.”

Despite attempting to make the Ragnarok shoot “it couldn’t happen. They were on a different continent.” Alexander added: “So it was sad. I was bummed about it.”

While Sif may have been missing from the action, Ragnarok featured a whole host of Marvel characters, including some very unexpected cameos. For spoiler-filled information on those, click here. Ragnarok is in cinemas now.
