A supernatural teen romance that's sillier, funnier and more literary than Twilight. Alden Ehrenreich's intellectual teen is bewitched by a new girl, Lena (Alice Englert), at his ultra-conservative South Carolina high school, finally breaking down her sullen facade.

The young lovers work well together, and Jeremy Irons and Emma Thompson are suitably hammy as the opposing casters, but this loses momentum towards the end.
