We're not talking supersymmetry complicated here, in Nancy Meyer's latest dollop of romantic froth.
Meryl Streep plays Jane, a well-heeled divorcee being pursued by the smug architect (Steve Martin) who is building her a new kitchen and coming out with such dross as: "I've just heard the French film industry is in town and it made me think of you." Jane's other pursuer – and this is where it gets "complicated" – is her portly ex-husband (Alec Baldwin), whom she still sleeps with. Her cloying grown-up children find out and stomp off, sniffling into their costly duvets. Streep does her best in this corny claptrap, but Martin has lost all his exquisite comic timing.
