Last Holiday (12A) <!-- none onestar twostar threestar fourstar fivestar -->
Woeful. Queen Latifah plays a department store assistant who's misdiagnosed with a tumour and, given three weeks to live, decides to blow her life-savings on the holiday of a lifetime in a top Eurotrash hotel where Gérard Depardieu is the chef.
The gimmick is that Latifah starts the movie as a repressed wallflower, then, once apprised of her impending demise, surrenders to bumptious self-regard and rampant gluttony. Which only makes you wish she'd stayed with repression. Essentially it's a repulsive consumerist fantasy for those Americans who think that "Europe" is a small principality where you go for spas and blow-outs.
