The MTV VMAs kick off in Los Angeles tonight, with Beyoncé leading the nominations with eight nods.
Eminem and Iggy Azalea are on the superstar’s heels with seven nominations each, followed by Pharrell Williams who has four nods.
Beyoncé’s video for “Pretty Hurts” is the most-nominated video, picking up mentions in four categories including Best Video With A Social Message, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Choreography.
Miley Cyrus has earned two nominations for her controversial video “Wrecking Ball”, which has already become one of the most-viewed YouTube videos ever despite its release last year.
