Cultural Life: Nancy Carroll, actress
Saturday 15 December 2012
Dominic West was amazing in Jez Butterworth's play The River at the Royal Court and I can't wait to see This House when it transfers to the National Theatre's Olivier next year. We have tickets to see Kneehigh's Midnight's Pumpkin at the BAC over Christmas. They are the most wonderful, spellbinding theatre company.
I can't wait for Judd Apatow's This is 40, the sequel to Knocked Up, with the brilliant John Lithgow, who is currently playing my husband Mr Posket in The Magistrate. I'm also really excited about Les Miserables coming out in January. I just got Arthur Christmas for the kids.
We have Elbow on loop at the moment and we just went to see them play at the 02. Wow! Wow! Wow! They were extraordinary, spiritual and just brilliant. Guy Garvey is a bit of a genius. And we have a regular kitchen disco with Paolo Nutini and Bellowhead, who are about to do the music for my husband's next show, the RSC's A Winters Tale.
I'm loving The Hour and I'm finding The Killing and Homeland completely gripping – but after that it's Cbeebies all the way in our house!
Nancy Carroll is in 'The Magistrate', National Theatre, London SE1 (www.nationaltheatre.org.uk) until 10 February.
