Game of Thrones season 6: Cersei and Jamie Lannister's relationship to reach 'all-time weird'

"It's juicy and so f*cking dark"

The new season of Game of Thrones is almost upon us and, while the majority of talk surrounds the fate of John Snow, actor Lena Headey has hinted at what season six has in store for her character Cersei Lannister.

Game of Thrones season 6: Everything we know so far

At the end of the HBO fantasy series' fifth season, Cersei was forced to endure a punishing Walk of Shame by the Faith Militant, whose hold over King's Landing tightened.

Season six will see Cersei implore Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) - who returns after his failed attempt to bring their daughter Myrcella home from Dorne alive - to help overcome them.

Talking about what fans can expect from their relationship in the upcoming season, Headey said: "[It's] at an all-time weird level. It's juicy and so fucking dark."

“It’s probably her most interesting season," Headey teased to EW. "She really has nothing to lose and she has everything to gain from a horrible position she finds herself in.”

The show's writers David Benioff and Dan Weiss claimed that they believe the new season will be "the best one yet."

Meanwhile, Davos actor Liam Cunningham revealed more about that “mic drop” moment from the trailers and spoke about his character’s relationship with Melisandre.
