Expect to hear David Bowie 's dulcet tones at some stage throughout Peaky Blinders ' third series; Cillian Murphy has revealed that the late musician personally gave producers of the BBC gangster series permission to use his much in the show.
NME reports how - in an interview with BBC Radio 6 - Murphy said: "This mad thing happened about six months ago I suppose, maybe last Autumn. Steve Knight [the show's creator] got a call from David Bowie’s people saying that Bowie really wanted to have some of his music used in the show.
"We were all completely blown away as you can imagine, all being massive Bowie fans. And then he passed which was so sad.
"The great thing is that you will hear some music in the show, I hope."

In the run-up to series three - which began on Thursday (5 May) - it's been mentioned how the late musician was a big fan of the show with creator Knight revealing the late musician sent Murphy a photo of himself dressed as his flat cap-wearing character Tommy Shelby .
Reflecting on the icon, Murphy said that the song that has stuck with him since his passing is "Young Americans."
Murphy's life on music will air on BBC Radio 6 on Sunday 8 May while Peaky Blinders continues weekly on BBC2 every Thursday at 9pm.
