Paul Nuttall became the new leader of the UK Independence Party today, taking over from Nigel Farage while he lands a jet ski directly on Donald Trump’s yacht and quaffs champagne with the new president-elect.

The MEP for North-West England beat Suzanne Evens by an overwhelming margin and has vowed that UKIP will replace Labour as “the patriotic party of the working people”.

Despite formerly being a university history lecturer, comedian Stewart Lee schooled him on the origins of Britain and life itself in 2014 during an episode of his BBC show Comedy Vehicle.

Confused by Nuttall’s new position that Bulgarian workers are skilled (“he’s only trying to ensure the future economic prosperity of Bulgaria and I don’t doubt that for a minute”), he took the central idea that keeping smart, capable people in separate countries to hilarious, absurdist conclusions.

“My name’s Paul Nuttall from UKIP,” he mocked, “and I say we need to ensure the brightest and best Anglo-Saxons stay in 5th century northern continental Europe instead of coming over here to the UK and laying down the basis of our entire future language and culture.”
