So what is an affenpinscher?

We've learnt a new word. Affenpinscher. Sounds great, right? It’s also nice to say, with a satisfying mouthfeel. But what on earth is it?

One clue is that it’s been in the news recently. Is it A) a dessert that may or may not have been contaminated with an unexpected equine element? Is it B) a breed of dog that has just won the equivalent of Crufts in the US? Or is it C) a military manoeuvre being used by rebels in Syria?

Oh all right, then. It’s B. And this particular affenpinscher’s name? Banana Joe. Natch.
