Apps for the style-conscious: Net-a-Porter for the iPad

Online designer store Net-a-Porter has just launched the first edition of its new interactive shopping magazine.

Net-a-Porter

Shop items directly from the glossy shots or add them to you wish list for later reference. You can also share them with family and friends if you're unsure about a purchase. Editorials and video will soon be updated weekly. Watch a demonstration of the app at http://www.net-a-porter.com/apps/ipad.

Vogue

The first European fashion magazine to launch an iPad application, Vogue has categorized the digital version of its magazine into three offerings: there are news relating to fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, as well as magazine features such as interviews, editorials, or making-ofs, and finally trend feeds consisting of slideshows and videos from international fashion shows.

Search for 'Vogue' in your local (European) iTunes store to get the app, which will be available for free for a limited period of time.

A|X Stylepad

Not an actual app but inspired by the iPad, this online portfolio of the Armani Exchange swimwear campaign makes the most of the gadget: flip through pictures, watch videos with the models (including Armani model and soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo's girlfriend Irina Shayk), explore the shoot locations Turks and Caicos, and of course, shop the collection. There's even a category for pictures you can only access if you're 18 or older, so brave yourself for imagery even hotter than the new Ronaldo underwear campaign.
