Beards were the look of choice for the fellas at the 2015 Golden Globe.

It's the fairer sex that dominates the headlines at red carpet events, but it wasn't ALL about the ladies at last night's Golden Globes; from bold colours to beards we roundup the best menswear looks.

When it comes to menswear during awards season, a black tie dress code dictates the outfit choice for almost all attendees with very little room for manoeuvre.

But rather than your bog standard glad rags, it was an overriding trend in facial hair that set the scene for the event.

Beards were out in force on the red carpet with numerous stars from Fifty Shades of Grey's Jamie Dornan to Jared Leto, all sporting fuzzy faces, rather than the traditionally more formal clean shaven look.

Sartorially it was a rather mixed affair with ordinary tuxedos mingling with more statement suits.

George Clooney, Channing Tatum and Jake Gyllenhaal all went down the standard black tux route while others including Adrien Grenier and Matt Bomer tried a slightly different angle in navy versions.

Justin Theroux eschewed a bow-tie in favour of a skinny black tie whilst Eddie Redmayne opted for a velvet version.

Jared Leto made a statement in a white and black suit and Alan Cummings went for head-to-toe cream with the exception of his footwear (high-top trainers).
