Nintendo have announced that the successors to Pokémon Black and Pokémon White games are set to launch for the Nintendo DS (also compatible with 3DS) on 12 October 2012, imaginatively christened Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 respectively.

Pokémon Dream Radar will also be available for purchase in the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS on the same day. This downloadable Nintendo 3DS title allowing Nintendo 3DS owners to catch their favourite Pokémon, including some very rare ones, via a combination of the 3DS’ cameras, motion control and augmented-reality technology.

Pokémon Black & White 2 bring players back to the Unova Region two years after the events of their predecessors, introducing new areas to discover, and changes to familiar places for you to explore. Fans will be able to visit new area Virbank City, home to Pokéstar Studios, for example, where they will be able to star in their own movie with their favourite Pokémon.

The games will also give fans of the originals a chance to catch up with some familiar friends, as Cheren and Bianca return – Bianca now assistant to Professor Juniper and Cheren is now a Gym Leader and a teacher at a school in Aspertia City, the starting location for this adventure.

Players can also transfer Pokémon they have caught on the 3DS’ Pokémon Dream Radar into their Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 games.

Also launching this Autumn is the Pokédex 3D Pro for Nintendo 3DS via the Nintendo eStore, this enhanced and upgraded version of the original including detailed information about every known Pokémon featured in the history of the Pokémon video game series.
