The catastrophic Note 7 had to be recalled after models started exploding

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be released in mid-September, according to an alleged launch roadmap that has just leaked.

The smartphone is set to launch on 23 August, before shipping to consumers a few weeks later.

Samsung will officially release the Note 8 on 15 September, according to a new report from South Korean publication ETNews.

The electronics company itself is yet to reveal an official release date, but the leak matches up with earlier rumours we’ve seen.

As expected, that means it will go head-to-head with Apple’s newest iPhones, which will also come out next month.

The Note 8, the successor to the catastrophic Note 7 had to be recalled after models started exploding, will be revealed at an event in New York later this month.

It’s expected to be larger than the enormous Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, featuring a 6.3-inch, 2,960 x 1,440 display.

It will look a lot like it too, but come with a productivity-focused stylus, which is the Note line’s hallmark.

Images of the handset published by technology tipster Evan Blass show off an attractive device, but question marks have been raised about its rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

It was the worst thing about the S8 and S8 Plus, badly affecting the user experience, and Samsung doesn’t appear to have changed it very much.
