Twitter index: Justin Bieber surpasses 9 million followers

Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber and his fans are celebrating on the morning of April 22 as the singer surpasses the 9 million fan milestone. Bieber joins Lady Gaga as the only microbloggers in the world with more than 9 million followers.

"9 MILLION!!! I LOVE YOU PEOPLE!!!" tweeted Justin Bieber (@justinbieber), following with a post that read "WOOOHOOOO...BIEBER GONE WILD!!!!"

Bieber's fans are celebrating the milestone with fourth and fifth place terms "#9millionbeliebers" and "Bieber Gone Wild."

"@justinbieber, remember when you only lived in that small town of 32,000? now you have #9millionbeliebers... crazy right? #dreambig," tweeted one of Bieber's fans using the "#9millionbeliebers" hashtag.

Whiskey brand Jack Daniels is promoting the top topic on Twitter and its newly launched Jack Daniels Honey for the second day running.

Romantic comedy " Never Been Kissed" is in sixth place, action comedy "Blue Streak" is in seventh place and computer-animated family film " Finding Nemo" is in tenth place.

American actor "Joseph Gordon-Levitt" has been cast as Gotham City policeman John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises. He will star alongside his Inception co-star Marion Cotillard.

Twitterers are drooling over shirtless pictures of Joe and Nick Jonas and showing their appreciation with ninth place term "JoickShirtless."
