Hillary Clinton says she's now 'part of the resistance' against Donald Trump

The former Secretary of State and 2016 presidential candidate is starting a new political action committee

Hillary Clinton is opening a new political fundraising committee now that she has declared herself “part of the resistance”.

Ms Clinton spoke candidly at an appearance at the Women for Women International forum in New York to provide what she called an “excruciating analysis” of the election battle she lost to Donald Trump.

True to form, Ms Clinton said she will not be sitting idly by during the Trump presidency. According to Axios, the political action committee (PAC) will raise funds for “organisations she cares about” and has met recently.

The PAC will act as a fundraiser for Democratic candidates running for the 2018 election but will not be used for any future campaigns for Ms Clinton herself.

She advocated for a peaceful transition and even attended Mr Trump’s inauguration in her role as former First Lady, but that has not stopped her from voicing her criticism in interviews and on Twitter, Mr Trump’s favourite social media platform.

She is also writing a book on the lessons she has learned throughout her political life as well as publishing It Takes A Village: Picture Book Edition, an illustrated children’s book about how communities come together to make a difference.

According to The Harry Walker Agency, a speaker’s bureau, Ms Clinton is now also available for speaking engagements.

There is no comment on their page about the kind of fees she would be paid, but former President Barack Obama received up to $400,000 for a single speech recently.

There is no word on what the PAC will be called but Ms Clinton will likely support organisations working towards helping women and girls, combating climate change, and economic equality.
