Ant and Dec have sold their idea for a game show based on poker to ITV. The quiz, with the working title The Con.Test, has been given the green light after the success of a pilot filmed in February.

Due to be screened on ITV1 this summer, it is the first UK game show in which one of the contestants is guaranteed to become a millionaire.

Although the programme will feature general knowledge questions, the main point of the game is for contestants to bluff about how much money they have won.

Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who also host I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and Saturday Night Takeaway, and will soon interview the Prince of Wales and his sons, came up with the idea two years ago. They refined the concept by playing it with friends in their local pub.

If the format is a ratings winner, it is expected to follow other British shows such as Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Pop Idol with US networks bidding for the rights.
