Cogolato admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and was jailed for six years. The court heard that Cogolato suffered a "transient psychotic episode" while stabbing Mr Clark. Passing sentence, the judge, Mr Justice Douglas Brown, said: "You killed your friend in a frenzied attack, while you were in a psychotic state which may have been brought on by a combination of drugs, both prescribed and illicit." The former boyfriend of the Sixties fashion guru Ossie Clark, 54, was yesterday jailed for his killing. An Old Bailey jury was told that Italian-born Diego Cogolato, 29, repeatedly stabbed him to death in a frenzied knife attack because he believed the designer was the devil. The eccentric designer was found dead in his council flat in London on 7 August last year.
