Cara Delevingne has claimed that US Vogue "lied" in an interview with her published in the latest issue, in which journalist Plum Sykes details the extent of her sleeping.
"All I can say is that I work extremely hard and 'sleeping' is proof that sometimes I work too hard," said Delevingne in a series of tweets.
"I apologise for being so ambitious."
Among fashion circles, Delevingne is known for her tendency to nap when given a free moment and is often caught backstage at fashion shows curled up asleep.
However, Sykes gives a more elaborate look at her sleeping patterns, noting that she turned up late to the interview then asked for them both to have a massage (of course), during which she fell asleep leaving the writer waiting for hours.
According to Sykes, her day-long interview with the model was cut to time on the telephone.
"Dear reader, to misquote Oscar Wilde, can I say that to oversleep once for a Vogue interview may be regarded as a misfortune, but to oversleep twice looks like carelessness?" says Sykes.
"I’m so sorry!!!" says Delevingne to Sykes after awaking from her ill-timed slumber.
"I fall asleep everywhere! Someone recently asked if they could publish a book of pictures of me sleeping, because there are so many."
Sykes then asks fashion photographer Tim Walker, who has worked with Delevingne on numerous occasions, for his opinion on her sleeping.
"Every shoot I’ve done with her, she’s fallen asleep," said Walker.
"She slept for seven hours on one Mulberry shoot."
"Well, the going out is more to do with the fact that I am literally jet-lagged all the time," she said in response. "I can’t sleep in the evenings. Most of the pictures people see of me are me going to work events: a Fendi dinner one night, a Prada dinner the next, and working all day."
"Actually," she continues, adorably ingenuous to the last, "compared to anyone else my age that I know, I really go out so little."
However, Delevingne is less than pleased with the portrayal , suggesting that the interview isn’t truthful.
Why do people in the industry lie so much???? They would rather see you fail than succeed. What happened to supporting each other; Cara Delevingne (@Caradelevingne) June 25, 2014
It's even worse when your trying to fight people that have all the power because then you are powerless; Cara Delevingne (@Caradelevingne) June 25, 2014

This just shows that the fashion industry is not the most understanding or compassionate of industries; Cara Delevingne (@Caradelevingne) June 25, 2014
That only applies to the people that sit around not really caring and never really bothering to get to know you or what it's really like; Cara Delevingne (@Caradelevingne) June 25, 2014
