Donald Trump suggests Beyonce backing Hillary Clinton is cheating

Not content with admonishing Jay Z over his bad language whilst apparently forgetting how he likes to pepper his own rhetoric with expletives, Donald Trump is also unhappy with Beyonce and the other high-profile figures who have endorsed Hillary Clinton.

The Republican nominee was speaking at a rally in Reno, Nevada, after Beyonce and Jay Z publicly endorsed his Democratic rival at an event in Cleveland.

Mr Trump hasn’t quite managed to muster the same level of celebrity backing during his campaign.

Announcing her support, Beyonce, who became one of the leading proponents of the Black Lives Matter movement in recent months, told the crowd: “Now, we have the opportunity to create more change. I want my daughter to grow up seeing a woman lead our country and know that her possibilities are limitless.”

“I don’t have any ill will toward him, but his conversation is divisive,” Jay Z said while expressing his own support. “He cannot be my president. He cannot be our president.”

Mr Trump made a pointed dig at this eleventh-hour endorsement while speaking to his supporters on Saturday, suggesting Ms Clinton was “cheating” by having so many people use their platforms to back her. He has made repeated, unsubstantiated suggestions the election is being rigged, seemingly hedging his bets should he lose the election.

“On quick notice, we didn’t bring any so-called stars along ― we didn’t need them,” he said. “The reason Hillary has to do that is, nobody comes for her. She can’t fill a room.”

“That’s almost like a form of cheating, right?”

Not quite.
