Liam Neeson’s nephew is in a critical condition in hospital after falling from the top of a phone box on a night out in Brighton.

Ronan Sexton, 31, suffered serious head injuries in the accident in the early hours of Sunday near Brighton Pier.

Police said he fell 20ft to the ground shortly after 4am.

He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital before being transferred to Hustwood Park Hospital, where he is fighting for his life.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “The man had been enjoying a night out with friends, who were present when he fell, and the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

“There is no further police investigation.”

Mr Sexton, of Worthing, is the youngest of the six children of Bernadette Sexton, Liam Neeson’s sister.

The 62-year-old Irish actor, who starred in Schindler’s List and Batman Begins, lost his wife in 2009.

Natasha Richardson was 45 when she died in a freak skiing accident in Canada, leaving Neeson and their two sons.
