Obituary: Yen Chia-kan
Yen Chia-kan, politician, died Taiwan 24 December, aged 88. Economic minister, finance minister, premier and vice-president under Chiang Kai-shek, he succeeded Chiang on his death in 1975 as President, serving until Chiang's son Chiang Ching-kuo's accession in 1978.
