Two men have been caught on camera covering their faces minutes before a botched robbery in a Westminster car park on Sunday.

The CCTV footage shows the pair loitering in an alleyway and nervously looking both ways.

One man can be seen clearly putting on a set of rubber gloves and using a bandana to hide his identity, before taking what police described as “a small handgun” out of his waistband. While the other man pulls up his hood and covers his face, the two then walk off.

At 2am on Sunday a 37-year-old man was approached by two people in Shepherd Market, one of the robbers pointed the gun at him and said "What have you got for me?" However, the victim ran off and alerted the people before anything further happened.

No shots were fired and no one was injured but the police are now looking for two suspects in connection with the incident.

The first suspect is a white man aged between 18 and 21-years-old and was wearing a green bandana and holding what looked like a gun in the video.

The second suspect is light-skinned black man around the same age, who put a black piece of clothing over his face in the footage.

Anyone who can identify either of these men should call police on 101 quoting reference 6546331/14 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
