Man charged with 1986 rape

A 44-year-old man has been charged with the rape of a teenager almost 24 years ago.

Paul Dyne, from New Malden, Surrey, was arrested yesterday following a re-investigation into the rape of an 18-year-old woman in Deal, Kent, in February 1986.

Officers from Kent Police's cold case investigation team worked on the inquiry with the Forensic Science Service, a force spokesman said.

Dyne will appear before Maidstone magistrates later today.
