A 40-year-old will appear in court tomorrow charged with the murder of a man found fatally stabbed in the communal hallway of his home.

Gordon Stalker, 51, was discovered unconscious when police and ambulance workers were called to Elm Grove, Brighton, East Sussex, just after 10am on Monday.

Despite efforts to revive him, he died shortly afterwards.

A post-mortem examination found his death was caused by a number of stab wounds to the chest and side of his body.

Mr Stalker, who was single and ran his own electronics company, was described as a "popular, fun-loving man" by his family.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said detectives had charged Stephen Dunne, of Chates Farm Court, Brighton, with his murder.

He will appear at Brighton Magistrates Court.
