Newcastle midfielder Rolando Aarons arrested after group started 'bumping and grinding' on aunt

Newcastle United's Rolando Aarons was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning after a nightclub brawl that allegedly started because a group of men started ‘bumping and grinding’ on his aunt.

The midfielder is reported to have ‘gone berserk’ when the group of eight to ten men starting dancing around his auntie at the club in Newcastle.

Aarons, who has struggled with injuries since breaking into the Newcastle side, signed a new five-year deal with the Magpies in August, worth £15,000 a week.

The incident caused the 20-year-old to storm out of the VIP area and confront the group, sparking a mini riot where tables and bottles of champagne were allegedly thrown around.

A source told The Sun: “He was having a great time. But he noticed eight to ten blokes trying to bump and grind with his auntie on the dance floor.

“It was all treated as a joke and Rolando laughed it off. When they started to film it, Rolando’s mood changed and he took great offence.

“He went over and told them to stop. His view was that they’d had their fun and it was going too far.

“He made his views pretty clear and that’s when all hell broke loose.

“There were girls falling about all over the place and people being trapped.”

Northumbria Police said: “Nine people have been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.

“One man attended hospital with facial injuries.”
