Paul Burrell is considering a £2m offer to write a warts-and-all memoir about his turbulent relationship with the Royal Family.

The former butler is sitting on a pile of publishing contracts, including at least one worth a substantial seven-figure sum, his spokesman Dave Warwick has revealed.

Should Mr Burrell agree to any of the deals, he will arouse suspicions that he is preparing to renege on his vow never to betray Diana, Princess of Wales, or her two sons, William and Harry.

It is understood that the more lucrative offers come with the proviso that he must be prepared to share his knowledge of the Princess's most intimate secrets.

Describing Mr Burrell as a man of "great integrity", Mr Warwick nonetheless conceded that his client may well accept one of the offers.

"I can't say exactly what he'll do next," he said. "He might write a book about what these last two years have done to his life.

"There's all sorts of offers on the table already. I'm not going to mention individual publishers, but I'm looking at one letter that's offering £2m."
