Two men have been arrested on suspicion of explosives offences, police said today.

The suspects, aged 52 and 21, were arrested yesterday morning at separate addresses in Caernarfon, North Wales, by officers from the Metropolitan Police and local police.

Two addresses in the area have been searched.

They were held under section 4 of the Explosives Act. The arrests are not related to terrorism.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "The two men are in central London police stations where they will be interviewed by police."
