A woman, who may be the widow of one of the London 7/7 suicide bombers, is being hunted by Kenyan police over a suspected terror plot.
An official in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi confirmed that a warrant has been issued for a woman using several identities, one of which is Samantha Lewthwaite - the name of the woman married to King's Cross bomber Jermaine Lindsay.
The woman is believed to have evaded capture when authorities carried out a raid on a group suspected of planning a terror attack in Mombasa over Christmas. She has used a forged South African passport in the name of Natalie Faye Webb and is reportedly travelling with three children.
Scotland Yard said it had recently sent a team of officers to Kenya to assist investigators with a terrorism-related incident. It refused to discuss the extent of its involvement in the operation.
A police spokesman in Nairobi said: "We do not know it is her (Ms Lewthwaite)... we know she has (several) identities."
Samantha Lewthwaite, a 28-year-old originally from Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, converted to Islam at the age of 15 and married Lindsay in 2002. Lindsay killed 26 people when he blew himself up onboard a packed Piccadilly Line Tube train in July 2005.
