South Londoners were woken up by a loud bang this morning after a van exploded on a quiet residential street.

Residents reported a huge explosion on Swan Road near Rotherhithe station in the early hours of this morning.

The blaze was captured by a local tour guide who lives nearby.

Rotherhite Tours later posted the footage on social media.

Fire crews from Dockhead Fire Station started battling the blaze and 5.29am and had put it out by 5.40.

Nobody one was injured in the explosion or ensuing fire.

Some Londoners were unphased by the impressive explosion, however.

Graphic designer Jon Mark Deane, who lives locally, said the incident happened "round the corner" from him.

"Didn't wake up," he added.
