Double Tory triumph over Lib Dems in latest by-elections
Tories took two Liberal Democrat council seats with landslide swings in the latest by-elections.
Conservative Jackie Brockway triumphed in Linconshire's Nettleham and Saxilby division while party colleague Giles McNeill won at West Lindsey District's Nettleham ward.
However Lib Dems comfortably defended a seat at Dodington, South Gloucestershire Council, with Tories trailing in last.
The Liberal Democrats' vote may have held up better there as the ward comes under Thornbury and Yate parliamentary constituency represented by the party's Steven Webb.
