The England cricketer Phil Tufnell, 27, was fined pounds 800 after admitting assaulting his former girlfriend, Jane McEvoy, mother of his 21-month-old daughter. He was also told to pay pounds 250 compensation. He admitted two charges relating to a driving accident and was fined pounds 300 by magistrates at Enfield, north London.
