Al-Qaeda application form: 'Who should we contact in case you become a martyr?'

The form surfaced along with other documents found at bin Laden’s compound

The mass release of documents that were found at the Pakistan compound where Osama bin Laden was killed in 2011 has revealed a job application for would-be al Qaeda militants.

Ever wondered what it would be like to work for an organisation like al-Qaeda?

Turns out, the application starts much like a non-militant job. It asks applicants to “Please enter the required information accurately and truthfully”, to “submit name, age, marital status”, and to “write clearly and legibly”, the Associated Press reported.

It goes on to ask, “Do you have hobbies?” and “Have you been convicted of a crime?”.

The application also instructs potential terror employees to provide next of kin, but al-Qaeda doesn’t need that information in the event of a workplace accident. It actually asks, “Who should we contact in case you become a martyr?”

In a final, sinister turn from the traditional application, the al-Qaeda form asks, “Do you wish to execute a suicide operation?”

The application and heaps of other documents found at the Abbottabad, Pakistan compound were released this week by US intelligence officials. Some of the documents were non-classified, while others were recently declassified.
