United Airlines has grounded all US flights while it deals with a computer glitch, the second time this has happened in the last month for the airline.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the grounding of all United flights and said it was caused by "automation issues".

Tickets could not be checked and flights could not be monitored due to the issue, effectively grounding flights, an LAX spokesperson told KTLA.

As of late Wednesday morning, United planes were taking off again.
