Launched on January 1st, Turkish television station TRT6 is the first state-run channel to be broadcast to the country 24 hours a day in Kurdish.
For the first time, Turkey's Kurdish-speaking population have access to news in their first language as well as dubbed films and programme tackling social and cultural issues.
