Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will undergo a scan today to determine the extent of the hamstring injury he sustained during Sunday's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa. The 22-year-old midfielder aggravated a torn hamstring when he came off the bench to score twice against Villa but could be out for three weeks if he has torn the muscle again.

Fabregas is unlikely to face Portsmouth tomorrow, as is midfielder Denilson, who has a back injury. But Alex Song has been given until 4 January before he must fly off to join the Cameroon squad ahead of the African Nations Cup.
