Fulham interested in Shaun Wright-Phillips confirms agent

Fulham have expressed an interest in signing Shaun Wright-Phillips from Manchester City, the player's agent has confirmed.

Wright-Phillips, 29, looks set to leave City for the second time having failed to establish himself in Roberto Mancini's expensively-assembled first team.

The England winger - who had a three-year spell with Chelsea from 2005 - will not be short of options, but could be tempted to rejoin his former City boss Mark Hughes at Craven Cottage, where he would be set for regular football.

Wright-Phillips agent Wayne Lindsay said on www.skysports.com: "My understanding is that Fulham have made an enquiry for Shaun, as have Newcastle.

"There are two other clubs also showing an interest, one loan and one permanent.

"There is also interest from a French club, but these are all options Shaun will have to consider."

Lindsay added: "We don't have a time frame in mind with this, but obviously it needs to be done before the end of the window."

Fulham could do with re-enforcements as they battle to stay out of the Barclays Premier League relegation zone.

The Cottagers are reported to be ready to swoop for Southampton starlet Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has been strongly linked with a £10million move to Arsenal.

Fulham would be prepared to offer the 17-year-old a chance to make an immediate impression in the top flight, which he would be unlikely to get at the Gunners or elsewhere.
