Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan is keen for a move to Arsenal because of his desire to play under manager Arsene Wenger, the player’s agent has claimed.

Turan has become an important part of Atletico side in their attempt to claim La Liga glory, while they also sit on the cusp of the Champions League quarter-final courtesy of their 1-0 victory over AC Milan.

The Turkey international has been linked with a move to the Premier league with Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool all linked with a move for the winger, however, Ahmet Bulut has also stressed that he will not be leaving Spain just yet.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported Bulut as saying: “He is interested in working under Arsene Wenger and Arda would like to play in England.

“Arda will not leave Atletico. They are part of the title race and he is a key player. Arda plays for a big club and he will be part of Atletico's success.”

Turan only signed his current contract in September last year and has him tied down to the club until 2017. While Bulut admitted that Premier League clubs had contacted Atletico over his availability – he didn’t elaborate on which ones – he reiterated that the 27-year-old’s focus remains on helping the Spanish club with the mammoth task of overcoming giants Real Madrid and Barcelona in their pursuit of the Primera Division.

“We have received offers from English clubs,” Bulut continued. “There are two parties in any transfer, the player and the club. Both must decide.

“However, for now I would like to insist once more that Arda renewed his contract recently and wants to stay at Atletico.”
