Wolves reject £9m bid from West Ham for Matt Jarvis

Wolves are fighting to hang on to Matt Jarvis after rejecting a
£9million bid from West Ham, Press Association Sport understands.
On Wednesday the club confirmed Steven Fletcher had handed in a transfer request on the back of a number of offers rejected by Wolves for the Scotland international's services, in particular from Sunderland.
Now Wolves, relegated to the npower Championship at the end of last season, have received an approach for winger Jarvis, along with goalkeeper Dorus de Vries, with Liverpool chasing the 31-year-old Dutchman.
The Hammers, who traded places with Wolves as they won promotion to the Barclays Premier League, are understood to have offered £6million now for Jarvis, with £3million to follow in various add-ons.
The midlands club are determined to avoid becoming easy pickings with three weeks remaining of the current transfer window.
In a statement, CEO Jez Moxey said: "As we have previously stated, no player will leave Wolves unless the club's valuation is met and it is in our best interests from a football perspective.
"We wish to retain our best players, we are not under any financial pressure to sell. Players will remain here unless we receive satisfactory offers.
"These are challenging situations for all parties, but we will continue to conduct our business in a respectful manner and will honour all of our commitments.
"We hope, and expect, other parties to do likewise."
With Wolves needing to pay Jarvis' former club Gillingham 15% of any transfer fee, the club are understandably eager to land the best possible price.
