Conor McGregor’s victory at UFC 194 should have been music to the ears of Frank Fertitta III, the co-owner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, with the Irishman standing alone as last remaining big-name champion in the promotion.

So it was slightly bizarre to see Fertitta slamming the UFC featherweight championship down to the ground upon witnessing Jose Aldo being knocked out in just 13 seconds by The Notorious, with his reaction triggering various conspiracy theories.

Fertitta hasn’t given anything away over his reaction given he rarely talks to the press, with his brother and UFC co-owner Lorenzo and UFC president Dana White doing the bulk of the media commitments.

Watch the video below...

Fertitta, who is sat directly above the ‘M’ and 'G' on the ring canvas, is seen to stand up as Aldo hits the deck following a counter-left punch from McGregor – the Dubliner’s first meaningful strike in the contest – and his actions have prompted a number of conspiracy theories on Twitter.

Aldo has since called for a rematch having not given his best account of himself in the short fight, but McGregor will wait until the new year before deciding on his next move, with a potential featherweight defence against Frankie Edgar on the cards as well as a step up to lightweight in a bid to dominate at 155 lbs.

McGregor expressed his desire to hold both titles at once, allowing a No 1 contender to emerge in the featherweight division while he competes at lightweight before returning to 145 lbs to defend the crown he won in Las Vegas last Saturday night.
