Following the sad news of Kimbo Slices's death earlier this month, the mixed martial arts world is in mourning once again following the tragic news that fan favourite Ryan Jimmo was killed Sunday in an alleged hit-and-run incident in Canada.

Jimmo, a fan favourite notorious for his Peter Crouch like robot celebration, was allegedly struck by a car while walking back to his own car early Sunday morning in Edmonton. He was then rushed to the hospital, where he was later declared dead. Jimmo was only 34 years old.

The Edmonton Police Service who are investigating the case are yet to officially release Jimmo's name as the victim, however, the news was confirmed by Jimmo's aunt Sharon who appeared on CBC on Sunday evening. As of this time, the police are still searching for both the vehicle and parties who they believe to have perpetrated the attack.

UFC president Dana White released a tribute to Jimmo on his Twitter account last evening.

Only a small amount of information is known about the altercation but a press release has confirmed small parts of the incident. It states that there was a "brief verbal altercation" between the drivers of the separate vehicles in the parking lot of a lounge in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada early Sunday morning.

The press release states that the driver of one vehicle approached the other vehicle on foot. When the man was walking back to his vehicle, the driver of the other vehicle allegedly sped up, struck the man and left the scene.

The police have also stated that they believe the suspect vehicle was occupied by at least two white males and that the incident is now being investigated by the homicide section of Edmonton Police Services. The release describes the suspect vehicle as a "dark-colored, older-model pickup truck with an extended cab, and customised with a lift kit, oversized tires and clear taillights."

Jimmo was a native of British Columbia, Canada and competed for the UFC seven times between 2012 and 2015. One of his finest moments in the organisation was at UFC 149 in 2012 when he achieved one of the fastest knockouts in UFC history when he flattened Australian Anthony Perosh in just seven seconds.

Jimmo last competed in the UFC in May 2015 against Francimar Barrosso where he suffered a unanimous decision loss. Shortly following that loss he was released by the UFC. Jimmo had not competed since that time but was still much loved by everyone in the mixed martial arts community. RIP Ryan Jimmo.
